May 4, 2009-Did you buy a Lottery ticket for the Mega Millions drawing held on Tuesday, April 28, 2009? If so, you could be $250,000 richer today. The New York Lottery today announced one lucky Lottery player who purchased a ticket for the April 28th Mega drawing came up one number short of winning the jackpot, but still managed to win a hefty $250,000 second prize.
The ticket, sold at the Mian Getty station at 3060 Broadway in Rotterdam, Schenectady County, was one of two second-prize winning wagers placed in New York for Tuesday's Mega Millions jackpot, which continues to roll, now standing at $220 million for Friday's drawing. To celebrate the sale of the winning ticket, Lottery customers who purchase $20 in Mega Millions tickets at the Mian Getty between Thursday, April 29 and Wednesday, May 6th will receive a free Lottery gift.

Mega Millions second-prize ticket holders may claim their prize at one of 15 Lottery Customer Service Centers statewide. Prizes of $600 or less may be collected at any one of the Lottery's 16,000 retail locations statewide.
