SCHENECTADY, NY – Dennis J. Sheehan of Scottsville, Monroe County, won $500,000 playing the Lottery’s Pick 10 game.
Sheehan works as an equipment operator for the Town of Chili Highway Department. He plans to help his family with a variety of home improvement projects and pay bills with his prize. Sheehan purchased his winning ticket at Wegmans, 3175 Chili Ave., Rochester.
To win the Pick 10 top prize, players must match 10 of 20 numbers drawn from a field of 80. The $500,000 jackpot is paid in a lump sum, less required tax withholdings. The odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 8,911,711. Overall odds of winning a prize are 1 in 17.
