July 3, 2009-So Chan from Flushing, Queens County is the latest $100,000 winner of the New York Lottery’s Double Triple Cashword instant game.
This is Chan’s first time ever winning a Lottery game. “I knew I won immediately by looking at the winning table,” Chan said.
Chan’s winning ticket was purchased at Yo Min, 6016 8th Ave., Brooklyn. Double Triple Cashword is a $5 instant game that has six remaining top prizes of $300,000. The overall odds of winning any prize are 1:5.14.
The New York Lottery contributed nearly $2.54 billion in fiscal year 2008-09 to help support education in New York State, over 12 percent of total state education funding to local school districts. The Lottery's ongoing commitment to education also includes the awarding of more than 1,100 Leaders of Tomorrow (LOT) Scholarships annually to high school students pursuing their higher education in New York State. Since the programs inception in 1999, the Lottery has awarded more than 10,300 scholarships.
